How do we know that good hope is true?

Good hope is grounded in the truth of God's Word, which speaks of the finished work of Jesus Christ and the promises made to all believers. Romans 5:5 states that hope does not disappoint because the love of God is poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit. This assurance is backed by the transformative work of grace in the lives of God's people, evidenced through the calling and the fulfillment of God's promises throughout Scripture. Historical evidence and personal experience also confirm that God actively bestows this hope upon His elect.
