How do we know that good works come from preaching Christ?

Answered in 1 source

Good works stem from a believer's union with Christ and understanding of His grace.

Good works are described in Scripture as the fruit of a believer's vital union with Christ, not simply the result of adhering to duty or moral obligation. In John 15:5, Jesus asserts that apart from Him, we can do nothing, illustrating that any genuine good works must flow from a relationship with Him. Furthermore, Ephesians 2:10 states that we are created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand. This indicates that true obedience and good deeds are a manifestation of Christ's life active within believers, rather than merely the products of personal will or effort. Emphasizing Christ in preaching leads to the empowerment of the believer to perform works that glorify God.
