How do we know that grace helps us overcome sin?

Believers are not under the law but under grace, as taught in Galatians 5. This grace empowers us to resist the desires of the flesh, instilling within us a longing for righteousness. The Spirit of God, given to us as a seal of our salvation, enables us to recognize and turn away from the works of the flesh, creating a new creature within us that seeks to please God.
