How do we know that grace is for real sinners?

Answered in 1 source

Grace is offered to real sinners, as evidenced by Christ's sacrificial love and His call to the broken and weary.

The essence of grace is explicitly addressed to those who recognize their sinfulness and inability to save themselves. As seen in 1 Timothy 1:15, Paul declares that Jesus came to save sinners, and he identifies himself as the 'chief' of those sinners. This acknowledgment underpins the gospel message that grace is not for the self-righteous but for those who are humble enough to confess their guilt. The stories Jesus told, such as the Prodigal Son, illustrate how God's grace embraces those who turn back to Him in repentance. Thus, the grace of God meets us in our deepest need and convicts us of our true state before Him.
