How do we know that grace is more valuable than law?

Answered in 1 source

Grace provides mercy and rest, whereas law leads to condemnation and burden.

The distinction between grace and law is pivotal in understanding the gospel. In 1 Kings 12, the young advisors to Rehoboam advocated a harsher yoke, reflecting the law's demand and severity. In contrast, the counsel from the older advisors emphasized grace by suggesting Rehoboam serve the people gently. This biblical narrative illustrates that grace, as described in Matthew 11:28-30, is not burdensome. Jesus invites the weary to find rest in Him, stating that His yoke is easy and His burden is light. Grace fosters a relationship based on love and service, which ultimately leads to joy and obedience, while law leads only to division and despair, exemplified in the rebellion of Israel from Rehoboam's harshness.
