How do we know that grace is necessary for overcoming sin?
Answered in 1 source
Grace is necessary because the law's demands expose our inability to conquer sin, yet grace through Christ empowers us for victory.
Grace is vital in the Christian walk as it provides the strength and encouragement believers need to resist sin. The law merely highlights our failure and judgment, bringing despair rather than peace. While believers may be motivated by the legalistic demands of the law, they ultimately lack the power to fulfill its requirements. In contrast, grace, which comes through the gospel, revitalizes the soul, enabling strength and perseverance in the face of temptation. The assurance of success through God’s love and the work of the Holy Spirit is what sustains believers in their fight against sin (2 Corinthians 12:9).
