How do we know that grace keeps us from sin?

Answered in 1 source

Grace, as taught in Romans 6:14, assures us that sin shall not have dominion over us because we are under grace.

In Romans 6:14, it is stated that 'sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under the law, but under grace.' This profound truth illustrates that living under grace fundamentally alters our relationship to sin. The law exposes sin but does not empower believers to overcome it; in contrast, grace liberates us from sin's control and allows us to live righteously. Believers, having been made righteous by Christ's sacrifice, are now enabled, through the Holy Spirit, to yield and serve God joyfully rather than being compelled to sin. This freedom is not a license to sin, but an invitation to live in obedience to God’s will, where genuine transformation occurs by the power of grace.
