How do we know that grace reigns through righteousness?

The reign of grace through righteousness is a central tenet of the New Testament, affirmed in passages that emphasize the completed work of Christ on our behalf. Romans 5:21 states that as sin reigned in death, grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life in Christ Jesus. This righteousness does not stem from our adherence to the law, as the law condemns, but through faith in Christ who fulfilled the law perfectly on our behalf.
