How do we know that holiness is important for Christians?

Answered in 4 sources

Holiness is important for Christians because it is vital for seeing the Lord and living in accordance with His will.

Holiness is not just about moral conduct; rather, it encompasses the entire relationship between the believer and God. The call to holiness has deep roots in the nature of God. Since God is holy, He desires His people to be holy as well (1 Peter 1:16). Holiness affects not just our standing before God, but also our effectiveness in witness and service. The Bible makes it clear that God's people are His witnesses, and holiness is foundational to that role. Without it, our testimony becomes diluted, and we cannot expect to affect others for Christ. Therefore, pursuing holiness is essential for both our relationship with God and our desire to fulfill His mission.
