How do we know that infants can be saved?

Answered in 1 source

Infants can be saved because God’s salvation is based on His election and grace, not on human effort or age.

The doctrine of salvation by grace is fundamental to understanding how infants may be saved. Ephesians 1:4 emphasizes that God has chosen His people before the foundation of the world. This election includes infants who cannot perform any works themselves. Salvation is not contingent upon what individuals do but on God's sovereign choice. Furthermore, the power of regeneration, which is necessary for all to enter the kingdom of God, is wholly the work of God (John 3:3). Therefore, God, in His mercy and sovereignty, is able to apply the benefits of Christ’s atonement to infants, just as He does with adults who cannot contribute to their own salvation.
