How do we know that Jesus baptizes with the Holy Spirit?

Answered in 1 source

We know this through John the Baptist's proclamation and the fulfillment of this promise at Pentecost.

John the Baptist announced that Jesus would ‘baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire,’ signifying a new covenant relationship between God and His people, mediated through the Holy Spirit. This baptism of the Spirit is evidenced in the New Testament, especially during Pentecost when the Holy Spirit descended upon the apostles and they began to speak in tongues and proclaim the gospel with boldness. The experiences documented in both Acts 1 and Acts 2 affirm that the promised Holy Spirit actively empowers believers for service and transforms their lives, thus confirming John's assertion regarding Jesus’s unique role.
