How do we know that Jesus came to save specific people?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus's mission was to save those whom the Father had given to Him, as indicated by John 6:39.

Throughout Scripture, it is made clear that the purpose of Christ's coming was specific and intentional. John 6:39 states, 'And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which He hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.' This underlines that Christ came not to save the whole world indiscriminately but to redeem those given to Him by the Father. Furthermore, passages like Matthew 1:21 affirm that Jesus came to 'save His people from their sins.' This perspective aligns with the sovereign grace view that emphasizes God's unilateral action in salvation and the accomplishment of Christ's redemptive work for a select group of people—His elect.
