How do we know that Jesus can give us rest?

Answered in 2 sources

We know Jesus can give us rest because He is the faithful High Priest who understands our struggles (Hebrews 4:15).

The promise of rest from Jesus is rooted in His identity as our High Priest who fully understands our human condition. In Hebrews 4:15, we read that Jesus is not only our mediator but also one who was tempted in every way yet without sin. This assurance means He is intimately acquainted with our suffering and struggles, thus enabling Him to provide true rest and comfort. His promises are reliable, and He will not cast aside those who come to Him in their weakness.
