How do we know that Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of the Scriptures?
Answered in 1 source
Jesus is the fulfillment of Scriptures because He embodies the prophecies and sacrifices depicted throughout the Old Testament.
Throughout the Old Testament, the Scriptures point towards Christ in various ways. For instance, the laws given to Israel were not merely rules to follow, but were designed to demonstrate the need for a Savior—Jesus Christ. John 5:39 tells us that the Scriptures testify about Him, and His life and work reflect the ultimate realities spoken of in prophetic writings. Moreover, Christ fulfilled the law with perfection, not only adhering to it but also embodying the very purpose behind it, which was to reveal God's plan for salvation through His sacrifice. Thus, through the lenses of the Old Testament and how they point to the New Testament, we can affirm that Jesus is indeed the culmination of God's redemptive history.
