How do we know that Jesus Christ is the true advocate?

Answered in 1 source

We know that Jesus Christ is the true advocate because He fulfills all requirements for righteousness and intercession as affirmed in Scripture.

Jesus Christ is identified as our righteous advocate in 1 John 2:1, which emphasizes His role in interceding for us when we sin. His righteousness is critical; He stands approved by God, without sin, making Him the perfect mediator who can reconcile us to the Father. Unlike any earthly lawyer, Jesus does not plead our innocence but His own righteousness on our behalf, ensuring that God's justice is upheld while extending mercy to sinners like us. Therefore, His perpetual presence at the right hand of God guarantees that He is always in position to advocate for us.
