How do we know that Jesus conquered death?

Answered in 2 sources

We know Jesus conquered death by His resurrection, which guarantees our victory over death as believers.

In Hebrews 2, we see that Christ became man and died as our substitute to take away the fear of death. He conquered death not just for Himself, but for all His people, and His resurrection is the proof of this victory. Romans 8 highlights that believers have no condemnation because Christ fulfilled the law on their behalf. Thus, His resurrection signifies that we, too, will be raised, providing hope and assurance of life after death. Paul reiterates this in 1 Thessalonians 4, relaying that those who have died in Christ will rise again, confirming the hope we have in His victory over death.
