How do we know that Jesus gave His body for us?

Answered in 1 source

We know Jesus gave His body for us from scripture that states it was willingly given as a sacrifice.

The assurance that Jesus gave His body for His people is rooted in both the scriptural affirmations and the historical context of His passion. As stated in Luke 22:19, Jesus declared, 'This is my body, which is given for you.' It is fundamental to sovereign grace theology that Jesus willingly offered Himself, a perfect sacrifice, for our sins. This act was not taken from Him by others; rather, He gave His life so that through His death, we might be reconciled to God. Moreover, the Old Testament foreshadowed this with the sacrificial system, leading to the understanding that Christ is the ultimate Passover Lamb (John 1:29).
