How do we know that Jesus had to be our Kinsman Redeemer?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus was required to be our Kinsman Redeemer by fulfilling the legal and relational requirements outlined in Scripture.

For Jesus to serve as our Kinsman Redeemer, He had to meet several key qualifications. Firstly, He must be related by blood, which He accomplished by taking on human nature, as seen in Hebrews 2:14. Secondly, He needed to be able to pay the debt owed due to sin; His divine nature gives His sacrifice infinite merit in satisfying God’s justice. Thirdly, His willingness to act as our Redeemer is shown in His gracious invitation to all who seek Him. Finally, He must be free of any debt Himself, and Christ is sinless, fulfilling all righteousness on our behalf. This complete fulfillment gives us confidence in the sufficiency of Christ for our redemption.
