How do we know that Jesus has all authority?

Answered in 4 sources

Jesus claims to have all authority in Heaven and on Earth, given to Him by God the Father as a result of His redemptive work (Matthew 28:18).

In Matthew 28:18, Jesus explicitly states, 'All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.' This claim not only establishes His divine authority but also affirms His sovereignty over all creation. Following His crucifixion and resurrection, God the Father exalted Jesus, granting Him authority over all things, including the power to save, forgive, and judge. This underscores the Reformed view of Jesus as the sovereign Lord, whose power is absolute, extending to every aspect of life and existence, and who acts in accordance with His divine will.
