How do we know that Jesus' invitation to rest is true?

Answered in 1 source

We know it is true because Jesus promises in Scripture that those who come to Him will find rest for their souls.

Jesus’ invitation to rest is supported by His authority as the Son of God, and it fulfills the deep needs of the human soul. In Matthew 11:27, Jesus articulates that no one knows the Father except the Son and to whom the Son reveals Him. This exclusivity ensures that His invitation comes from divine authority. Furthermore, the revelation of Christ leads believers to understand their inability to save themselves, thus highlighting the necessity of resting in His perfection rather than their flawed works. This assurance of rest is deeply rooted in His completed redemptive work at the cross, which provides the necessary righteousness for us to stand before God.
