How do we know that Jesus is central to worship?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus' presence is fundamental to true worship; without Him, worship becomes merely a ceremony.

In John 12, it is emphasized that you cannot have a true worship service without Jesus Christ being present. Churches may host various gatherings, but it is only a genuine worship service when Christ is at the center. This serves to remind believers that all worship must point back to Him, as He is the object of our affection and the source of our grace. The gathering in Bethany demonstrates that true worship occurs when believers are focused on Christ and respond to His grace with thankful worship.
