How do we know that Jesus is greater than the angels?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible states that Jesus is greater than the angels based on His unique sonship and authority.

Hebrews 1:4 asserts that Jesus is made 'so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.' This distinction highlights His divine sonship and the worship He receives from angels, as seen in Hebrews 1:6. Moreover, Jesus fulfills roles that angels cannot, such as being the mediator of a better covenant and the perfect sacrifice for sins, reinforcing His superiority as the God-man who stands in a unique position to represent us before God.
