How do we know that Jesus is our kinsman redeemer?

Answered in 7 sources

The Bible identifies Jesus as our kinsman redeemer because He became a man, fulfilling the requirements to redeem His people through His sacrifice.

In the Old Testament, a kinsman redeemer was a close relative who had the right to redeem family members or their property. Boaz serves as a type of Christ, being a near relative willing to redeem Ruth. Hebrews 2:14-17 emphasizes that Jesus shared in our humanity, making Him the perfect kinsman redeemer who could save us from our sins. He was not only willing but also able to redeem, having both the authority as God and the humanity necessary for our salvation. His willingness to take on flesh and die for us exemplifies His role as our redeemer.
