How do we know that Jesus is our representative before God?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus is our representative because He lived a sinless life and fully obeyed the Father, fulfilling the law for our sake.

The concept of Jesus as our representative is central to Reformed theology. Throughout His life, Jesus exemplified perfect obedience to the Father, as seen in passages such as John 8:28 where He states, 'I do nothing of myself, but as my Father hath taught me.' His role as our mediator is fundamental; He took upon Himself the sins of His people, fulfilling the requirements of the law completely. Because He accomplished this in His humanity, He is perfectly suited to represent us before God, granting us access to the Father and securing our redemption as affirmed in 1 Corinthians 15, emphasizing His victory over death and sin.
