How do we know that Jesus is our representative in Gethsemane?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus is the last Adam who represents humanity in fulfilling the terms of the covenant of grace.

In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus functions as the last Adam, contrasting Adam's disobedience in Eden. Where Adam failed, Jesus succeeds, facing the consequences of sin and fulfilling the requirements of the everlasting covenant of grace. Romans 5:18 explains that through one man's disobedience, many were made sinners, but through one man's righteousness, many will be made righteous. This underscores the redemptive role that Jesus plays as our representative, not by our works, but through his perfect obedience and sacrificial death.
