How do we know that Jesus is our representative in salvation?

Answered in 1 source

We know Jesus is our representative in salvation because the Scriptures declare that through His obedience many will be made righteous, as seen in Romans 5:18-19.

The concept of representation is pivotal in the doctrine of salvation. In Romans 5:18-19, Paul explains that just as Adam's disobedience led to condemnation for all, Christ’s obedience results in justification and life for those He represents. This teaching illustrates the idea of Christ as a federal head, similar to Adam. Whereas Adam’s actions brought sin and death, Christ, through His perfect life and sacrificial death, provides righteousness and life to all who are united with Him by faith. Thus, our acceptance before God rests entirely on Christ's completed work, not our personal merits.
