How do we know that Jesus is the greater than Solomon?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus' fulfillment of prophecies and His divine authority affirm that He is greater than Solomon.

In Matthew 12:42, Jesus states that 'a greater than Solomon is here,' emphasizing that His authority and wisdom far surpass that of Solomon, who was renowned for his wisdom. The Queen of Sheba’s journey to hear Solomon serves as a metaphor for the necessity of seeking Christ, who is the ultimate revelation of God's wisdom and character. While Solomon offered insights into governance and life, Jesus speaks directly to the heart of the matter—revealing the nature of God and how one can have eternal life.

Furthermore, through His teachings, miracles, and ultimate sacrifice, Christ provides the fullness of God’s revelation, something Solomon could only foreshadow. The Old Testament types and promises are seen in their full realization in Christ. Thus, through His life, death, and resurrection, Jesus proves to be the superior wisdom that justifies our faith in Him.
