How do we know that Jesus is the mediator of a better covenant?

Hebrews 8:6 tells us that Jesus has obtained a more excellent ministry and serves as a mediator of a better covenant, which is established on better promises. This is essential because the old covenant was limited; it outlined a law that could not bring perfection (Hebrews 7:19).
