How do we know that Jesus is the promised Lamb?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus fulfills the requirements of the Lamb through His life, death, and prophetic teachings.

The promise of the Lamb comes through the prophetic words of figures such as Abraham, who stated, 'God himself will provide the lamb' (Genesis 22:8). This promise intertwines with the prophecies throughout the Old Testament that speak of a savior who would redeem humanity. Jesus clearly meets these prophecies, being the perfect Lamb whose sacrifice was foreordained and whose blood takes away the sins of the world (John 1:29). This divine provision of the Lamb underscores God's sovereignty in salvation.
