How do we know that Jesus is the true mediator between God and man?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus is the mediator because He assumed human nature and intercedes on behalf of His people.

In 1 Timothy 2:5, we are taught that there is one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus. The unique role of Jesus as mediator stems from His dual nature as both fully God and fully man, which allows Him to represent humanity before God while also being perfectly qualified to bear our sins. As outlined in the Goat Yard Declaration, Jesus assumed humanity at a specific time, being born of the Virgin Mary. His role as mediator was established from eternity, and through His life, death, and resurrection, He provides the means for reconciliation between sinful humanity and a holy God. Thus, believers can trust in Him alone for their salvation.
