How do we know that Jesus is the true mediator between God and man?

Answered in 3 sources

Jesus is the sole mediator because He is both fully God and fully man, uniquely qualified to reconcile us to God (1 Timothy 2:5).

In the realm of Christian theology, the person of Jesus Christ as the mediator between God and man stands central to our faith. According to 1 Timothy 2:5, 'For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.' This emphasizes His unique position as the God-Man, possessing both natures fully—divine and human. Throughout the Old Testament, priests served as intermediaries, but their sacrifices were never sufficient. In contrast, our High Priest, Jesus Christ, offered Himself as the ultimate sacrifice for sin and now sits at the right hand of the Father, continually making intercession for His elect (Hebrews 7:25). This unparalleled role confirms that He alone stands between us and the holy God.
