How do we know that Jesus is the true Passover?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus is recognized as the true Passover Lamb through His sinless life, sacrificial death, and fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies.

Jesus' role as the true Passover Lamb is rooted in the fulfillment of the Old Testament types and prophecies concerning the sacrificial system. The lamb prescribed in the Passover must be without blemish, a requirement met perfectly in Christ, who lived a sinless life (1 Peter 1:19). His death on the cross aligns with the sacrificial lamb being slain for the people; just as the blood marked the doors of the Israelites, Christ’s shed blood marks believers, shielding them from judgment (John 1:29). The New Testament consistently affirms this identification, with Paul stating in 1 Corinthians 5:7 that 'Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.' Thus, through Jesus, the redemptive purposes of the Passover are fully realized.
