How do we know that Jesus is the true priest for cleansing our sins?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus is the true priest as demonstrated in scripture, offering Himself as the perfect sacrifice for our sins.

The New Testament reveals Jesus as our great High Priest, who not only fulfills the role of mediator but is Himself the ultimate sacrifice for sin. In the Old Testament, the cleansing of the leper involved a priest examining the leper and pronouncing him clean, which symbolizes Christ's role in our salvation. He entered our condition, bore our sins, and, through His blood, provided the means of our cleansing, akin to how the priest would carry out the Levitical laws. By His death and resurrection, He confirms His priesthood and ensures the perfect cleansing of His people.
