How do we know that Jesus must be killed?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus' death was necessary to fulfill Scripture and to serve as a substitute for sinners.

The necessity of Christ's death is central to the Christian faith, as outlined in Scriptures like Matthew 16. He must be killed not just to die but to be offered as a sacrifice for sin. Just as the Passover lamb had to be slain to atone for the sins of the people, Jesus Christ had to be killed to satisfy divine justice and to serve as our perfect substitute (1 Peter 3:18). This is a pivotal doctrine that underscores the gravity and purpose of His crucifixion.
