How do we know that Jesus must reign?

Answered in 2 sources

We know Jesus must reign because it is ordained by God and is necessary for the fulfillment of His covenant promises.

The necessity of Jesus' reign is grounded in God's divine decree and plan as expressed throughout Scripture. In Psalm 2:6, God declares that He has set His King upon the holy hill of Zion, indicating that this reign is not a possibility but an established fact. Furthermore, Jesus’ reign is essential for the administration of justice in the world, as justice demands that He exercises authority over all creation. His sovereignty ensures that God’s will is accomplished, which gives believers the assurance that their faith and efforts in spreading the Gospel are ultimately fruitful. Therefore, Jesus' reign is critical both for His glory and for the good of His people.
