How do we know that Jesus' sacrifice prepares a place for us?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus' sacrifice on the cross is the means by which He prepares a place for believers, guaranteeing their eternal salvation.

In John 14:2, when Jesus says He goes to prepare a place for His followers, He directly refers to His impending crucifixion. His sacrificial death is what allows for reconciliation between God and humanity. The preparation of a place is not a physical renovation but rather the completion of the work of redemption, whereby Jesus through His blood brings us into a right relationship with God. It is through acknowledging this completed work by grace alone that we recognize our eternal inheritance is secured, highlighting the depth of God's love and the certainty of our hope in heaven.
