How do we know that Jesus' sacrifice provides us rest?

The assurance of rest through Jesus' sacrifice is grounded in His role as our substitute who took upon Himself the full weight of our sin. As highlighted in Matthew 26, Jesus endured sorrow and suffering in Gethsemane, knowing the tremendous price He was about to pay. His prayerful submission to the Father's will demonstrates His commitment to undertaking this divine mission for our sake. By saying 'It is finished' on the cross, He affirmed that the work necessary for our salvation was completed. This means that for believers, the burden of sin and the quest for righteousness have been conclusively addressed through His perfect obedience and sacrificial death, allowing us to rest in Him.
