How do we know that Jesus suffered for our sins?

Answered in 2 sources

Scripture confirms that Jesus suffered greatly, not for His sins, but for ours, exemplified in His prayers in Gethsemane and His crucifixion.

In the sermon, the preacher emphasizes that Jesus suffered immensely during His earthly ministry, particularly evident in His agony in Gethsemane as He prayed, 'If it be possible, let this cup pass from me.' This illustrates His willingness to endure suffering for the sake of unworthy sinners. The pain of crucifixion and the separation from the Father highlights the depth of His sacrifice, fulfilling the divine plan for redemption as He bore our sins on the cross. As stated in 1 Peter 2:24, 'Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree.'
