How do we know that Jesus values devotion to Him?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus affirmed acts of devotion, like Mary's anointing, as good works that honor Him.

In Mark 14:6, Jesus responds to those who criticized Mary for her extravagant act of devotion by stating, 'Let her alone. She hath wrought a good work on me.' This shows that acts performed out of love and devotion, even if seen as wasteful by others, are highly valued by Christ. It's a reminder that our offerings, when given from genuine affection for Him, are regarded with great honor and acknowledgment. This perspective encourages believers to live out their faith through acts of devotion, knowing Jesus sees and appreciates their commitment.
