How do we know that justification brings peace?

Answered in 1 source

Justification by faith grants believers peace with God, as they stand righteous before Him.

The assurance of peace stemming from justification is expressed in Romans 5:1, where it states, 'Being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.' This verse affirms that through faith in Christ's sacrificial work, believers are declared not guilty before God and enjoy a reconciled relationship with Him. Justification means God views believers as righteous, and this perfect standing provides the foundation for true peace. Not only are our sins forgiven, but we are also positively regarded as holy and blameless, allowing us to approach God with confidence.

Moreover, this peace is deeply connected to Christ's resurrection as well, highlighting that His rising ensured that our justification was completed (Romans 4:25). By being justified, believers can rest assured that all God's requirements for acceptance have been met in Christ, leading to an abiding peace that does not depend on the ebb and flow of feelings or situations, but rather on the steadfast truth of what Christ has accomplished.
