How do we know that justification is based on Christ alone?

Answered in 1 source

Justification is based solely on Christ’s righteousness and not on human faith or works.

Justification before God is not contingent upon our faith or works but solely upon the righteousness of Jesus Christ. Romans 3:24 states that we are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. The act of justification takes place when God accounts Christ's righteousness to the believer, an imputation that occurs without regard to their actions or beliefs. Paul’s teachings further clarify that faith is the means by which we understand our justified state, but this understanding does not contribute to the justification itself. Hence, the foundation of our justification is firmly grounded in Christ and His work alone, promoting a view that excludes any means for human boasting in salvation.
