How do we know that nothing can separate us from God's love?

Answered in 4 sources

We know nothing can separate us from God's love because it is rooted in His immutable nature and the assurance given in Scripture.

Our conviction that nothing can separate us from God's love stems from the nature of God Himself. God is love, as stated in 1 John 4:8, and He is immutable, meaning that He does not change (Malachi 3:6). His love is everlasting and transcends any potential separation. Paul expresses his persuasion in Romans 8:38-39, affirming that neither death, life, angels, nor principalities can sever this love from those in Christ. The character of salvation is also foundational in this assurance; because salvation is by grace, we cannot earn or lose God's love based on our actions. The eternal union between Christ and believers ensures this unbreakable bond of love.
