How do we know that obedience to the gospel is true?

Answered in 1 source

Obedience to the gospel is evidenced by a changed life and a loving relationship with Christ.

The truth of obedience to the gospel is validated by a transformed life and a sincere love for Christ. In 1 John 2:3-4, it is written, 'And hereby we do know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He that saith, I know Him, and keepeth not His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.' The genuine transformation of an individual who submits to the gospel results in a life that reflects Christ’s teachings and surpasses mere lip service. This new nature, which arises from being born of God (1 John 3:9), produces fruit that is consistent with obedience—love towards others and adherence to God’s commands. The evidence of obedience demonstrates that one truly understands and has embraced the gospel.
