How do we know that only the elect can come to Christ?
Answered in 1 source
Scripture reveals that only those chosen by God are granted the ability to come to Christ.
The understanding that only the elect can come to Christ is supported throughout Scripture. Ephesians 2:1 tells us that we are dead in our trespasses and sins, indicating that apart from God's work, we possess no spiritual life and thus cannot seek God. Furthermore, John 6:44 states that 'no man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him.' This illustrates that the act of coming to Christ is a work of divine initiative, not human effort or choice. Only those whom God has transformed by His Spirit will have the capacity and desire to come to Christ, fulfilling the promise that all whom the Father has given to the Son will indeed come to Him.
