How do we know that our calling is heavenly and cannot be resisted?

Our calling is heavenly because it comes from God and is irrevocable, as affirmed in the Scriptures.

The calling we receive as believers is described in Hebrews 3:1 as one that comes from above, making us 'partakers of the heavenly calling.' This points to the divine initiative in salvation, where God’s grace irresistibly calls His chosen ones to Himself. In Ephesians 1:4-6, we see that this calling is rooted in God's sovereign choice before the foundation of the world, thus guaranteeing its effectual nature. Those whom God calls will inevitably respond and hold fast to their faith.
