How do we know that our faith is a work of God?

Answered in 2 sources

Faith is identified as a gift from God, produced by His grace within us (Colossians 1:3-6).

In Colossians 1:3-6, the Apostle Paul emphasizes that faith and love are results of God's grace: 'We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love which you have to all the saints.' This indicates that true faith is not self-generated but is a work of God, bestowed upon believers so they may bear fruit for His kingdom. This aligns with the doctrine of sovereign grace, highlighting that all spiritual blessings, including faith, come from God’s initiative rather than human effort.
