How do we know that our faith is genuine?

Answered in 16 sources

Genuine faith is evidenced by a life transformed by the Spirit, producing good works and reflecting the character of Christ (Ephesians 4:17-24).

The authenticity of our faith can be discerned through the changes it brings in our lives. Ephesians 4:17-24 contrasts the behavior of those still in their old selves with believers who are renewed in the Spirit. A true believer will exhibit a radical transformation, rejecting the 'vanity of their mind' and embracing a new way of living characterized by righteousness and holiness. This transformation shows that we have truly been taught by Christ. The fruits of the Spirit, good works, and a life aligned with God’s word confirm that our faith is genuine.
