How do we know that our faith is genuine?

To evaluate the genuineness of our faith, we must consider the 'roots' from which it springs. Job asserts that 'the root of the matter is found in me,' indicating that a stable and healthy faith must be anchored deeply in a right relationship with God. If these roots are compromised, then the outward expression of faith will eventually falter. In Jeremiah 17:8, the imagery of trees planted by water represents the believer who draws sustenance from God, unfazed by difficulties. Thus, a genuine faith is rooted in a robust understanding of Scripture and a living relationship with Christ, resulting in spiritual prosperity.
