How do we know that our salvation depends on Christ?

Answered in 1 source

Salvation is wholly dependent on Christ, as He is the author and finisher of our faith, as seen in Hebrews 12:2.

Our salvation is rooted in the complete sufficiency of Christ's work on our behalf. Hebrews 12:2 clearly states that Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith, signifying that our belief in Him and salvation are entirely His doing. Through His life, death, and resurrection, Christ accomplished all that is necessary for our redemption. Any attempt to contribute to our salvation undermines His grace and sovereignty, as it declares that our efforts can assist in what only He can fully complete. Therefore, the assurance we have in our salvation comes from understanding that it is not reliant on our deeds, but solely on Christ's perfect sacrifice and righteousness.
