How do we know that our salvation is genuine?

Answered in 1 source

Genuine salvation is evidenced by the spiritual maturity and the ongoing work of Christ in our lives, leading us to reflect His character.

Paul emphasizes in Galatians that the evidence of genuine salvation is not merely a profession of faith but the transformation that occurs as Christ is formed in us. This process involves the Holy Spirit's work within us, leading us to exhibit the fruit of the Spirit, as outlined in Galatians 5:22-23. Characteristics like love, joy, peace, and patience are indicators that we are indeed being conformed to the image of Christ. Moreover, the ongoing process of sanctification assures us that we are on the right path. We should expect to see growth and evidence of spiritual life as we cultivate our relationship with God, thus affirming the genuineness of our faith.
