How do we know that our souls need confirmation?

Confirmation is essential because our souls, created in the image of God, hold eternal significance. The Bible teaches us that what would it profit a man to gain the whole world yet lose his soul (Mark 8:36). Our souls require divine confirmation, especially during times of distress or tribulation, to reassure us of our salvation and to strengthen us in our faith.
