How do we know that our works are useless before God?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that all our works are sin unless they are done in Christ.

As highlighted in the sermon, the disciples caught nothing despite their efforts, illustrating that all human works are ultimately ineffectual without Christ's involvement. Isaiah 64:6 reminds us that all our righteous deeds are like filthy rags; thus, our best efforts apart from God serve only to confirm our need for Him. Recognizing this truth leads us to depend wholly on Christ for salvation and righteousness, as our works cannot earn God's favor.
